Why do I practice yoga daily?

To be read with a sense of humour, light & smiles….

Best read by saying, “I practice yoga so that”…. Before each response….

I practice yoga so that……

...I am a nicer, kinder person

…I move better

...I sleep better

…I can be more productive in my life

…I can get out of bed with a sense of wellbeing

…I can get out of bed….period….

…my mind can better prioritize my daily life

…I work more efficiently and constantly look to improve upon what and how I’m doing something

…my mind can focus better on the tasks at hand

…I can allow worries and stresses to be less intense and become more manageable

…I have discipline

…I remained focused on my goals

….I practice mindfulness

…I am practicing to be more compassionate

…I can let go of things that weigh me down or hold me back

…I can forgive myself for past mistakes and failures

…I can continue practice forgiving others for things that I didn’t like, care for or enabled me to feel a particularly difficult way.

…I can allow space for change, choices and reactions that serve my highest good

…I can be angry, hurt or upset and I’m allowed to feel that way

…I can express myself

…I can change

…I remain strong and capable

…I will continue to grow and become a better person

…I attempt to practice treating other beings with the respect and understanding whenever possible

…when the shit hits the fan, I don’t lose my mind & hopefully my temper

…find balance in both body and mind

…my body does not burst into flames when having a hot flash or when angry

…I am a better daughter, sister, wife, mother & human being

…I am less moody

…I am more relaxed

…I breathe better and more mindfully each day

…I notice when I become distracted and put myself back on track

…I am more steady and grounded

…I judge less and praise more

…I laugh, smile and enjoy life with a sense of wonder and desire to never stop learning

…I can deal with challenges that are put in front of me in a more effective & constructive way

…I better accept that I am not always right

…I accept help when I really need it

…I don’t kill people

More than just movement

I recently had a very interesting, emotional and rather intense conversation with a new student to yoga. I am always amazed at what happens when someone discovers how wonderful, difficult, satisfying
